Torquay's only waterside hotel with direct private access to an award winning European Blue Flag Beach, it is a level walk to the Marina and town centre. The hotel has a restaurant and bar. Our 4 night stay is at 4* Hydro Hotel Eastbourne

We visit Polesdown Lacey (NT) home of Mrs Greville, a famous Edwardian Hostess, on our journey to Eastbourne.

Our visits include Herstmonceaux Castle, Batemans (NT)home of Rudyard Kipling, Sheffield Park and Garden (Capability Brown),  and Standen House and Gardens. We will also have the opportunity to ride on the famous Bluebell Railway.

Our last day is spent at Parnham House , a beautiful  Elizabethan House and listed as one of the top twenty in Simon Jenkins book England’s Thousand  Best Houses.There will be Free time in Arundel.

Our journey home is interuptedby a visit to Chartwell (NT) the family home of Sir Winston Churchill

This pleasant foray to Normandy begins with the usual Totteridge pickup  and a journey by coach to Dover followed by an enjoyable   sea crossing with P&O Ferries to Calais . We will stay 4 nights in the Hotel Mercure  4*Champs de Mer in Rouen situated  a 10 minute walk from the centre of Rouen.Our tour will include visits to Monet's garden at Giverney, the Musee des Impressionists and the  Musee des Beaux Arts in Rouen. We will also visit  the Chateaux de Beaumesnil and the Jardin Plume. At Hornfleur we will visit Musee Eugene Boudin and enjoy a 90 minute boat trip along the Seine Estuary. Our journey home will include a visit to the birthplace of Guy de Maupassant followed by lunch in Dieppe before we  once again cross the English Channel to Dover.

Our  5 day  Tour includes

Visits to Constable country, Gainsborough’s House, Munnings Art Museum

Visits to Colchester and Lavenham  

Tours of Melford Hall, Ickworth House, Paycocokes House and Christchurch Mansion

And a  visit to Beth Chatto’s Garden on our last day.

We will stay at The Stoke by Nayland Hotel on the outskirts of Leavenheath for 4 nights  from September 22nd to 26 th 

 Liverpool  visits include 

Liverpool  Cathedral,  Metropolitan Roman Catholic Cathedral and the Walker Art Gallery 

Port Sunlight Village and the Princess Road Synagogue 

Crosby Beach to see Anthony Gormleys Another Place followed by a visit to Albert Dock and The Tate Liverpool 

En route to Liverpool we visit Kedleston Hall in Derbyshire and the journey back to London is enlivened by a visit to Salford Quays  and The Lowry Centre.

Our long journey North will be broken by a visit to Tatton Park and our return journey South will include a visit to Little Moreton Hall. Our time in Scotland will include visits to the Burrell Collection ,Kelvingrove Museum and the Willow Tea Rooms in Glasgow, The Scottish National Gallery and Britannia in Edinburgh and a drive out to Tarbet, Hill House and Loch Lomond.
